Various socio-political circles have strongly condemned the murder of Zainab and ruthless police firing on protesters in Kasur and alleged that government had totally flopped in protecting the life and property of common man in the Punjab.

They said that Police is only performing duty to protect life and property of so-called VIPs as a result of the looters, drug mafia, abductors and anti-social elements become more active in the Province. They underscored the need of early arrest of culprits involved in Zainab murder and police deployed on the residences of VIP should removed immediately for ensuring protection of the life and property of common.

In this regard Baidarie Sialkot demands the law enforcement agencies to immediately apprehend the culprits who in Kasur District of Punjab had sexually assaulted little Zainab and later did the brutal and inhuman act of assassinating her. The organization offers its condolences to the parents and other members of the bereaved family and prays to Allah Almighty to grant the departed soul the highest place to in His heavens.

Speaking on behalf of Baidarie, Professor Arshid Mehmood Mirza said that committing of these nefarious crimes against Zainab is indicative of the abominable direction towards which the society is heading. It seems that morals of our social fabric have rotten to the core.

The situation will aggravate further if well focused efforts on sustained basis are not put in place to curb the evil designs of those criminals who dare to commit such inhuman offences and do not spare even the children who happen to be in the age of innocent Zainab.

Mirza said that a recent report by Punjab commission on the status of women has indicated the marked increase of 12 percent in the acts of violence against women while the incidence of rape cases has increased by 17 percent. All of it is happening despite the fact that govt has taken appreciable steps of promulgating women protection laws during 2010, 2012 and 2016.

It is therefore imperatively necessary that government and society must work together to transform the criminal and anti-social mindset to assume positive and constructive form and harness the potentials of hitherto dimensionless youth towards making some positive contributions for pacing up the process of national development.
